Our Services for Schools

At Matris Robotic, we offer hands-on workshops designed to complement Design and Technology (DT) and computing courses in primary and secondary schools. These workshops integrate robotics, coding, electronics, and AI, enriching the learning experience while inspiring creativity and fostering practical skills tailored to different age groups.
Our services for schools include:
  1. Consultation: We collaborate with DT teachers to understand specific course goals for primary and secondary students.
  2. Customized Content: Tailored sessions to complement your DT course at any key stage.
  3. Expert Delivery: Delivered by experienced educators at your school or online.

Robotics Workshops:

The “Robotics” workshop is a research-based teaching system developed by Matris Robotic to help students learn science and mathematics concepts through hands-on, practical application.

Students engage with multidisciplinary STEM projects such as Smart City, London Bridge, and Amuzment Park, choosing their preferred designs to build, test, and deploy. Each project is broken down into smaller sub-projects, with students taking on specific roles that involve troubleshooting, monitoring, and collaboration.

Throughout the process, students gain experience in project planning, time management, and teamwork, while also exploring and researching the scientific and mathematical concepts needed to successfully complete their projects.  Some examples are:

London Tower Bridge:

Be inspired by the iconic London Bridge in this unique STEAM workshop.

Students combine robotics, AI & Coding, and art to design and build their own interactive bridge masterpiece, blending creativity with engineering.

We offer a wide range of hands-on, engaging workshops designed to inspire creativity and build real-world skills in robotics, coding, electronics, and design.

Each session can be engaged to your school’s needs, from one-off workshops to multi-day programmes or termly clubs.

London Bridge

Footbalist Robot:

Students design, build, and program their own soccer-playing robots. They develop robotics skills while working in teams and participating in friendly competitions. In our football robot programme, students design and program robots inspired by FIFA World Cup 2026™ and famous London football clubs such as Arsenal F.C., Chelsea F.C., Tottenham Hotspur F.C., West Ham United F.C., Crystal Palace F.C., Fulham F.C., Brentford F.C., Queens Park Rangers F.C., Millwall F.C., Charlton Athletic F.C., combining sport, coding, and robotics into an engaging STEM experience. The program encourages problem-solving, creativity, and collaboration in a fun and supportive environment.

Playground:

Students explore robotics, coding, electronics, art, and project management through hands-on activities. The curriculum culminates in project delivery, where students present their final versions and reflect on their learning journey all while having fun and applying their skills in real-world scenarios.

They work together in teams to complete engaging challenges. The program encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. All activities take place in a supportive and fun learning environment. Interested in studying more on STEM benefits, Click on Me!

Smart City

We inspire Central London, make a smart city with AI. Then combine robotics, electronics, coding, and art skills. In this workshop, we will follow several purposes:

1_ Improving the creativity of students by discussing several solutions for a project

2_ Enhancing project management skills (The project is divided into small pieces and students do them step-by-step)

3_ Improving teamwork skills

4 _ Improving STEAM skills (STEAM consists of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics).

Science: Learning basic physical concepts such as voltage and current. Technology: Introducing light sensors and their application in this project. Engineering: Learning how to make electronic circuits Art: Designing an architectural model of a smart city. Mathematics: Using basic mathematics concepts such as common fractions in the project. The aim of this workshop is to get practical insight into science and technology, teamwork, troubleshooting, and project management.

How Matris Workshops Complement Computing and DT Courses

Supports DT objectives with real-world applications of technology for all key stages.
Students design and build projects using tools like Micro:bit, Arduino, and servo motors, tailored to suit primary and secondary learners.
Encourages students to create prototypes for real-world challenges such as assistive devices, smart cities, and sustainable technologies.
Fosters teamwork through large-scale activities integrating robotics, coding, and electronics.
Activities designed to engage younger students in foundational concepts and older students in advanced problem-solving.

Sample Workshop Topics

Green Energy

Students build wind turbines that convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. The turbines are connected to a light bulb, and by manually spinning the turbine blades (simulating wind), the generated energy lights up the bulb. This activity not only teaches students about renewable and clean energy concepts but also emphasizes the importance of green energy and environmental preservation by reducing pollution and conserving natural resources.

Artificial Hand

Secondary school students explore movement and control by programming servo motors with the BBC Micro:bit. This workshop introduces core robotics concepts through practical, hands-on learning.

Smart Mobile Robot

Students learn to design and program robots that use sensors to navigate independently, introducing them to real-world applications of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Smart Agricultural Robot

Students design and build a robot with soil moisture sensors that can monitor plant health and automate irrigation systems. This hands-on project introduces how robotics and smart technology are applied in real-world farming innovations, inspiring solutions for sustainable agriculture.

Smart City Prototyping

Based on Central London, participants design and build a miniature city centered on green energy principles. Rooftop solar panels provide clean energy for lighting and services, demonstrating how cities can integrate renewable technologies. The workshop emphasizes sustainable urban planning and environmental protection.

Scratch and Python Coding

In Coding course, step-by-step, students learn core programming concepts, loops, conditionals and variables and instantly see their ideas come to life on screen through interactive projects and simulations.

Customised Robotics and AI Workshops for Students in Schools

Primary School Workshops: Introduce foundational DT concepts through engaging, hands-on projects for KS1, KS2, KS3.
Secondary School Workshops: Explore advanced topics in robotics, AI & coding, electronics, and 3D design (GCSE and A level).
Custom Programmes: Choose from single sessions, multi-day workshops, or termly clubs, all tailored to your school’s needs.
We also have CPD training for teachers who want to strengthen their coding curriculum or completely transform it with opportunities for cross-curricular integration. Our coding sessions not only build digital skills but also support literacy, maths, and science. With our proven hands-on approach, children learn more effectively, stay engaged, and achieve higher outcomes.
