Animal Workshop at the Horniman Museum

On 27 May 2025, Matris Robotic hosted one of its most engaging family robotics events in a truly inspiring setting: the Horniman Museum in London. This unique Animal Workshop was designed for families to learn, build, and create together.

Why the Horniman Museum was the Perfect Backdrop

The Horniman Museum is renowned for its fascinating collections from the natural world. This made it the perfect inspiration for our animal robotics workshop, fueling the imaginations of everyone involved.

A Day of Collaborative Robot Building

We believe in collaborative learning. For this workshop, we invited parents to join the creative process alongside their children. Families designed and built robots inspired by animals, from brainstorming to assembling. It was a true hands-on journey shared between generations.

The Core Goals of Our Animal Workshop

Our goals were to:

  • Strengthen the parent-child connection through teamwork

  • Spark curiosity and creativity in a supportive environment

  • Turn learning into a joyful, hands-on experience

Witnessing Creativity Come to Life

The energy was electric. Parents and kids worked side-by-side, building everything from robotic butterflies to mechanical lions. They were moments of discovery, laughter, and deep connection.

By the end of the day, every family left with a robot and a shared experience that celebrated creativity and the joy of building something together.
