How to make an amuzment park? A method for learning to code

We had a fantastic workshop at one of London’s museums, where students drew inspiration from Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park and designed their very own creative camps. It was a combination of motion and emotion!

In this workshop, students learn to build their own amusement park step by step. First, they design the layout, deciding where rides, stalls, and pathways will go. Next, they program individual rides, such as a spinning Ferris wheel or a roller coaster, giving them motion and interactive features. Then, they add characters who can explore the park, buy tickets, and enjoy the attractions. Finally, students combine all elements to create a fully functioning amusement park simulation, testing and refining their code along the way.

The students demonstrated great teamwork and collaborated to create. This workshop was an interdisciplinary experience, so they incorporated different skills such as coding, electronics, art and mechanics. They learned how to work as members of a team, solve problems, and gain practical insights into science, mathematics, and physics. This workshop was a fun learning experience, and the students played together and enjoyed their hands-on experience.
